Things we don’t fix:

We receive inquiries about a huge variety of equipment for repair. There’s a lot of stuff we do fix, but even more that we do not. I thought it would be good to let everyone know exactly what we do or do not repair.

Please review this list of things we generally Do Not Repair:

  • Vintage compact digital cameras over 10 years old. (Canon Power Shot, Nikon CoolPix, etc…) Repair parts other than LCD screens are generally not available. Zoom lens repair not possible. (exception: high end or high value vintage compact Sony & Leica can usually be repaired).

  • Compact digital cameras from Kodak PixPro, Minolta, Fujifilm Instax, MyFirst, Ricoh Pentax, Yashica, or other funky new brands. Repair parts not available.

  • Cassette based camcorders and memory card camcorders more than 10 years old. Repair parts no longer available.

  • Non-traditional camera equipment. Drone cameras, surveillance cameras, PTZ cameras, FLIR cameras, mobile phone cameras, doorbell cameras, Tesla cameras -yes, we’ve been asked, sewer cameras, etc… Repair parts generally not available. Outside our area of expertise.

  • GoPro cameras: limited parts availability, difficulty of repair due to construction. Seek out specialist repair shops.

  • Camera Drones / DJI equipment: outside our area of expertise.

  • Specialty cinema equipment: RED and Black Magic BMPCC products: Repair parts generally not available. Seek factory support.

  • Low value vintage & antique cameras. Not worth the investment.

  • Digital SLR cameras more than 15 years old. Repair parts either not available or not worth the investment.

  • Polaroid cameras or Fujifilm Instax cameras. Contact specialist repair shops such as Retrospekt, Polaroid or Fujifilm for assistance. We are unable to check or diagnose problems with Polaroid cameras.

  • Plastic film cameras from the 1980’s or 1990’s. Repair parts not available and often not worth the investment.

  • Projection equipment of any type: Slide projectors & movie projectors, including Kodak Carousel.

  • 8mm, Super 8 & 16mm film movie cameras. Contact specialist shops such as Pro8mm.com, TheFilmWave.com or MonsterFlipsUSA.com

  • Funky new lens brands such as: 7Artisans, Artra Lab, AstrHori, Bower, Brightin Star, Meike, Mitakon Zhongyi, Rokinon, Samyang, Sirui, TTArtisan, Venus Optics, Viltrox, Yongnuo. Repair parts not available.

We CAN usually repair:

  • Traditional SLR digital cameras less than 10 years old. We are Canon & Nikon digital SLR repair specialists.

  • Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras by Canon, Nikon, Panasonic & Sony. We specialize in repairing all modern Sony, Canon & Nikon mirrorless cameras.

  • SLR & mirrorless camera lenses by Canon, Nikon, Sony and select cinema lenses by Tokina Cinema. We have years of experience repairing lenses.

  • Compact digital cameras less than 10 years old from Canon, Sony & Panasonic. As long as parts are available, we can help.

  • Certain high quality vintage film cameras (example: Canon AE-1, Hasselblad 500EL, Minolta X-700, Leica, Rolleiflex, Yashica-Mat, etc…) CURRENTLY ONLY ACCEPTING CLEANING AND LIGHT SEAL REPLACEMENT SERVICES. VERY LIMITED VINTAGE SERVICE IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

  • Sony & Canon Cinema cameras less than 10 years old. We are Sony and Canon cinema camera repair specialists.
