Meet the Owner and Repair Technician of Authorized Camera Repair
Authorized Camera Repair is owned and operated by Matt Fuehrer. Matt started his career in photographic equipment repair as an apprentice at Green's Camera Tech in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1993. By 1998 he was lead technician of Green's Camera Tech, heading up a team of seven camera repair technicians. In 1999 Mr. Fuehrer relocated to the greater Philadelphia area to join a new camera repair enterprise. At that time, he also started an eBay sales outlet for quality refurbished camera equipment, called Elkins Park Camera. By late 2004 Elkins Park Camera changed it's name to Authorized Camera Repair and went "bricks-and-mortar" in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.

"I came into the industry at an interesting time," says Matt, "It was the last few years of the film age, mid-1990's. I learned how to service all the old cameras right before they weren't all that popular anymore. By 1997 we started seeing the glimmer of the digital age right around the corner. Many asked what I was going to do when there weren't any more cameras to fix (it was assumed at the time that digital cameras wouldn't or couldn't be repaired) and I said I'd "keep on repairing as long as there was work to do." Well, here we are now, in 2006, definitely in the digital age and wouldn't you know it? We DO fix digital cameras! (Thank goodness!) In fact, most of the cameras that come into the repair shop are now digital cameras. These days, we repair just about any type of digital photo and video camera with ease."
